Established in 2009 in London, David Koma has become synonymous with the ultra body-contouring silhouette, creating sculptural statement dresses inspired by the feminine form. The house is often commended for the couture-like finishes of the garments, whether it is the gravity-defying opulent hand embroidery or sleek and contemporary exemplary cut silhouette.
Alongside the bodycon silhouette that propelled the designer onto the international stage, David Koma ready-to-wear offering has expanded to include a full range of options from precise daywear separates in denim and leather, to beautifully tailored outerwear, showstopping red carpet gowns, and impeccably cut jumpsuits.
David Koma collections have graced pages of numerous magazines from around the world – from established global titles to independent style books. Internationally acclaimed celebrities often turn to the designer for red carpet looks. In 2023 the brand has already been worn by Beyonce, Kendall Jenner, Dua Lipa, Jennifer Lopez, Ana de Armas and Blackpink to mention a few.
The brand aesthetic is best described in 3 words: seductive, feminine and timeless. David Koma DNA is based on sculptural and sensual pieces created to instil confidence and empower.
Juxtapositions play an important role in the aesthetic of the house and the Koma Girl at the heart of the brand is full of contrasts too. She is tough yet sensual, free yet controlled, youthful yet mature – a complex character reflective of the modern women. She is a 21st century femme fatale – strong and confident, with a sophisticated sex appeal.
